According to the AP , southern Texas has contributed a full third of all of Hillary’s campaign funds for the last two years. This seems remarkable considering the coldness most Texans feel toward letting any Clinton back into the White House. This may be more a sign of the increasing power of southern Texas as a political and economic power more than a sign of a change in Texan alliances.
The Texas GOP chairman Tina Benkiser had this to say:
Democrats may raise money in Texas, but they don’t win in Texas
Guess we’ll see in a couple of years.

I would like to say that Hillary can raise as much money in Texas, as she would like, but personally, I don’t think she has a chance of getting enough votes from Texas to win…. Sure she might recieve a few here and there, but in the end Texas is a Republican majority state… and thats it…email me thesbonotlesbo@yahoo.com

One of the problems with the electoral system is that any area that tends to vote for a certain party by even a slim majority suppresses the citizens who want an alternate choice from having an impact.
I agree with you that Hillary won’t win Texas but I find it comforting that liberals in southern states and conservatives in NY and California are able to have at least some impact through activism and financial donation.
I wonder what it would feel like to see Hillary win the presidential election with Texan money… that’d be strange.
